Krypto's Story

Krypto Is Our Youth Program Mascot

Hawksbill sea turtles are very rare near Oahu and considered critically endangered. SCUBA Heroes was exploring the sea cave at 65 feet on the south-windward side of Oahu. Near the entrance of the cave Supergirl (AKA Jennifer) spotted a Hawaiian Hawksbill Sea Turtle! As we approached, she showed no fear while she continued foraging. With the turtle's fearless nature and sociable demeanor she reminded us of a friendly dog, so we named her Krypto, after Superman's pet. She is now registered with the Hawaiian Hawksbill state registry.
